
Vikram Malhotra, Chief Operating Officer (Motion Pictures):
Vikram heads the Motion Pictures business at Balaji Telefilms. Prior to joining Balaji, he was the Head of Worldwide Marketing at Kingfisher Airlines, where he led a team that is credited with creating India’s largest airline brand in a little over 4 years. He also headed the digital business of his previous organization.
Vikram has also helped in building successful brands and businesses at the erstwhile Lever-Johnson, retail internet at Tata Communications and beverages with The UB Group.
Vikram has a Bachelors degree in Commerce from the University of Rajasthan and an MBA from KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research, Mumbai
Ramesh Sippy, Advisor:
Ramesh Sippy acts as an advisor to the motion pictures business. With over 40 years experience in theatrical distribution, Mr. Sippy is among the savviest and best connected distributors in the country through his company, Raksha Distributors.
With his rich distribution experience, he is assisting Balaji’s pan-India distribution rollout. Ramesh also assists the company with industry and trade associations.
Priya Aven, Chief Creative Officer:
Priya Aven is responsible for envisioning and creatively driving projects for the business, and also for bringing in and being the interface between creative talent and the firm. She has been active in the Indian entertainment for the past 12 years.
An alumnus of St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, she has worked at UTV Motion Pictures and UTV Television in a variety of roles including creative production, direction and programming.
Anku Pande, Chief Development Officer:
Anku Pande spearheads project development at Balaji Motion Pictures. Before taking on her present role, Anku was an independent producer where she was doing VFX productions for Ramesh Sippy Entertainment Pvt Ltd and line producing a documentary for National Geographic Channel. She comes with 16 years of experience in the motion picture business and is an alumnus of the American Film Institute.
She has also headed the Indian film content business for Warner Brothers and her own production house focusing on documentaries and commercials.
Sunny Khanna, Head of Revenue:
Sunny Khanna is responsible for all revenues of the motion pictures business and works closely with Ramesh Sippy. Responsible for building up Balaji’s theatrical distribution business, he also leverages his extensive industry relationships in non-theatrical syndication.
Prior to joining Balaji, he was heading distribution for Mumbai Mantra, the film arm of the Mahindra Group. He has also worked extensively in the distribution arms of Percept Picture Company and Mukta Arts.
Sunny has a B.Com from Mumbai University and is currently pursuing his MBA.
